Ross Minter is the eldest son of 1980's world middleweight champion,
Alan Minter. Ross decided to follow his illustrious father's footsteps
to become a boxer in 1991 after being a keen footballer. He has
never looked back since.
Currently the English Welterweight champion, won after stopping Brett James within 4 rounds, at London Docklands Excel center in December 05. Before going for the English title Ross had to give up the Southern area title, which he won by dethroning the unbeaten Chas Symonds in three rounds. He then successfully defended it by stopping durable Sammy Smith also in three rounds.
Ross has been a successful professional under the guidance of his
manager, Frank Warren for the past four years and has won 16 fights,
one draw, and his only loss resulting from cuts. Ross fought for
10 years gaining valuable experience from 50 amateur fights, finally
deciding to turn professional in November 2001 after losing in the
London ABA Finals on computer scoring.
Ross watches all his fathers' fights, but is looked after by West
Ham trainers Johnny Eames and Peter Swinney. The future looks bright
for the 27-year-old prospect, who is now able to commit all his
time to training and learning the ropes with help from his new sponsor
Ultrachem.
Ross is now in training for his next fight, after which he is hoping to challenge for the WBU World title in Dec sometime, this is scheduled to be televised as the main event, live on ITV.
Over the years, Ultrachem has taken pride in its sponsorship of

of Youth Clubs, local amateur football clubs around the country
and individual Sports Personalities, the most recent being Barry
McGuigan's induction to the Boxing Hall of Fame, plus sponsorship
